BSI congress 2021

In December 2021 Lawrence, Jordan and Carolyn attended the British Society for Immunology (BSI) Annual Congress in Edinburgh. All three group members enjoyed catching up with colleagues from other institutions (despite the grey weather!), as well as the keynote from Dr Rafi Ahmed of Emory University on ‘T cell lifestyle in chronic viral infections and cancer’. Lawrence and Jordan presented ‘Late breaking’ posters while Carolyn’s poster in the ‘Mathematical and systems immunology’ session was shortlisted for a poster prize.

Lawrence (Left): ‘Protective effects of combining monoclonal antibodies and vaccines against the Plasmodium falciparum circumsporozoite protein’.

Carolyn (Centre): ‘Delayed booster dosing modulates human antigen-specific Ig and B cell responses to malaria vaccine candidate PfRH5/AS01B

Jordan (Right): ‘Immunological assessment of candidate vaccines against blood-stage Plasmodium vivax malaria in healthy UK adults’
