UK Clinical Vaccine Network Meeting 30 June 2022

Susanne, Fran, Angela and Barney attended the UK Clinical Vaccine Network Conference at the Royal College of Physicians, London. This multidisciplinary conference aims to bring together the UK Clinical vaccine community in order to facilitate co-operation and collaboration in clinical vaccinology. Susanne co-organised the day and Lawrence gave an oral presentation on malaria vaccine development to date and upcoming second-generation approaches. The conference looked back at the lessons from COVID with talks by Professor Tess Lambe on vaccine development for the next pandemic and Dame Emily Lawson, reflecting on COVID vaccine deployment. Other sessions focused on the special considerations for vaccinology in pregnancy and vaccine adverse events in clinical practice and clinical trials. The conference ended with a look to the future with a review of new policies for HSV vaccines and serosurveillance for enteric infections. The conference was warm, interactive, and collaborative - we're already looking forward to The UK CVN 2023 conference in Liverpool!
