I attained a degree in Pharmacology from King's College London, during which I spent a year in industry working on the development of small molecule inhibitors against an enzyme target associated with metastatic breast cancer. Prior to joining the group, I was based at a life sciences company focusing on pre-clinical development of vaccine candidates for Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever using the baculovirus expression vector system platform.
Within Professor Simon Draper’s research group, my role as a research assistant supports the development and characterisation of novel blood-stage malaria vaccine candidates. My work predominately focuses upon Plasmodium parasite culture and how the vaccines being developed within the Draper group impact on their growth.
