I earned a bachelors in biochemistry from Keele University where my research project aimed to develop a Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cell model to help study cerebral malaria.
Pursuing a longstanding fascination for tropical disease biology, I went to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine for my MSc. Here I had the opportunity to support SARS-Cov-2 vaccine and RDT studies during the pandemic, thus intensifying my interest in immunology.
I consequently joined the University of Birmingham, where I worked to identify and characterise immune cell compartments that appeared to predict vaccine responses in the elderly and immunocompromised.
Joining the Draper group in June 2024, I support the clinical trial programme to conduct various malaria vaccine and controlled human infection studies and explore their impacts on cellular and humoral immunity.
