Mimi presents at the 9th International Conference on Plasmodium vivax Research (ICPvR) in India

In February 2025, Mimi attended the 9th International Conference on Plasmodium vivax Research (ICPvR) hosted by the Vector Control Research Centre in Puducherry, India. This meeting is held every 2 years and brings together everyone working on P. vivax malaria including clinicians, academic researchers, non-governmental organisations and industry. Mimi gave an oral presentation on her DPhil work titled ‘Characterising human monoclonal antibodies induced by vaccines against P. vivax Duffy-binding protein’. As a final year DPhil student, this was a great opportunity to present and discuss her DPhil work with the wider researcher community in the field and hear about the latest scientific advances across topics ranging from epidemiology with a focus on malaria elimination programmes through to basic science research on the biology of the parasite. In addition to the conference, it was great to explore a little of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu and sample some great South Indian food.
