Simon's plenary talk at the International Society for Vaccines (ISV) Annual Congress 2024 in Seoul

In October 2024 Simon attended the International Society for Vaccines (ISV) Annual Congress at the Dragon City Hotel, Seoul, South Korea.

The International Vaccine Institute (IVI), established by the United Nations Development Programme partnered with the ISV for this important event. The 2024 ISV Annual Congress welcomed vaccinologists from all disciplines of human and veterinary prophylactic and therapeutic vaccination and immunotherapy. Participants came from every discipline, including basic research, development, regulatory issues, manufacturing, and epidemiology and from all sectors, whether academic, industrial, governmental or non-governmental institutions.

Simon gave a plenary talk in the opening session entitled “Clinical Advances in Vaccines for Blood-Stage Malaria”, co-chaired a session entitled “Strategies for Improved Protection” and judged posters in a very high-calibre poster session for students and early-career researchers. Aside from this, it was fantastic to catch-up with collaborators and colleagues from around the world, and also experience South Korean cuisine!
