From 2nd-4th December 2025, Jo Salkeld attended the Federation of Infection Societies conference in Bournemouth. This conference is the largest UK-hosted, international infection conference, drawing together academic and health professionals working in infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, infection prevention and control, and biomedical science. Topics ranged from clinical management of infection to vaccine development and the potential impacts of climate change and AI on healthcare.
During the conference, Jo presented a talk on the recent VAC089 trial in Oxford, titled “Safety and potent functional immunogenicity of a novel blood-stage P. falciparum malaria vaccine, R78C and RH5.1 with Matrix-M®, in UK adults in a Phase I trial”.
It was fantastic to catch up with friends and colleagues and enjoy the beach in Bournemouth in December!
