National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Malaria Research Program (MRP) Symposium

In October 2022 Simon presented online at the annual National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Malaria Research Program (MRP) Symposium.

This virtual MRP Symposium highlighted key advances in basic parasite cell and molecular biology with nationally recognised leaders in malaria and other globally-important human pathogens. The mission of the MRP at NIAID, NIH, USA is to pursue fundamental knowledge into the interactions of malaria parasites with their human hosts and mosquito vectors.  Through sponsorship of collaborative research fellowships to a limited number of top-caliber applicants, the MRP aims to apply these research insights to prevent, diagnose, and treat malaria and to improve quality of life in malaria-endemic countries.

Simon presented on “Recent advances in RH5-based vaccines for blood-stage P. falciparum malaria”. Other talks were given by colleagues from around the world.
