World Malaria Day Symposium at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

On 25th April 2023, Simon was an invited speaker at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health World Malaria Day Symposium held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

This all-day, in-person, Symposium was among the largest World Malaria Day events in North America, hosted by Dr Peter Agre, Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute Director, and co-organised by Dr Prakash Srinivasan and Dr Audrey Odom John. Thirteen speakers from leading global research institutions travelled to the JHMRI in Baltimore to present the latest science on this year’s topic: “Blood-Stage Malaria: Staving off the Firestorm.”

Simon spoke in the final vaccine session, chaired by Dr Carole Long from the NIH, on “Advances in RH5-based Vaccines for Blood-Stage P. falciparum Malaria”.
