Oxford Vaccine Group Away Day at the Mathematical Institute

On 18th September 2025, members of the Draper lab attended the Oxford Vaccine Group Away Day at the Mathematical Institute, Andrew Wiles Building, in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. The day provided an opportunity to reflect on the last 30 years of the Oxford Vaccine Group and included talks about current research and discussions about goals and ambitions for the next 30 years.

Members of the Draper group contributed to an inspiring day of talks. Dr Mimi Hou delivered a talk during the Early Career Researcher session on her work isolating and characterising monoclonal antibodies against the Plasmodium vivax Duffy-binding protein. Prof Angela Minassian, Chief Investigator of malaria vaccine clinical trials, later chaired a session on Clinical Experience and Research Impact. Dr Andrew Duncan, Clinical Research Fellow, delivered a talk during this session on the need for malaria vaccines and the promising impact of a multi-stage malaria vaccination strategy.

Overall, it was a fantastic day and outlined the far-reaching impact of the Oxford Vaccine Group. We are very grateful to all the organisers and members of the Oxford Vaccine Group who collaborate with our group to deliver our malaria research studies
